Race for life & ‘If U Care, Share’
Both sites recently took part in races to raise money for a number of charities which are near and dear to our hearts. Raising money for cancer awareness and suicide prevention, pupils and staff are over the moon with the outstanding success of both events. Windlestone Site
This year we have engaged in fundraising events throughout the year to raise money for our chosen charity ‘If U Care Share’ but the one that stands out is the amazing Park run we held in June. The students ran laps of the school site in their house groups, collecting tokens as they passed each station which included boxing therapy, 5 ways of welling being nerf throwing, face painting and smoothie shots. They decorated t shirts in their house groups to represent each team and raised an astounding £1,042 in sponsorship donations.
As we come to the end of the academic year Symone from the charity came in to help us present the cheque to the charity of the money we have raised this year which was a total of £1,458.00. This money will now be placed with the charity for the school to use next year in terms of therapy sessions, training and further workshops to help our students prevent suicide and focus on positive mental health.
