Our Sites

Elemore Hall School is large special school for pupils who have Social, Emotional and Mental Health difficulties. We can only safely and effectively meet the needs of our pupil group because the school is split over three dispersed sites.

Elemore Hall

The Elemore Hall site is a secondary Special School for pupils with SEMH located in the countryside east of Durham City. The site is based around an 18th Century manor house with more recent extensions and extensive grounds, it has been a school since 1959.  The school has steadily grown over the years to provide a personal, social and academic education for 90 pupils between the ages of 11 and 16. Elemore offers evening activities to all pupils and residence for up to 25 pupils on four nights per week during term time. Admissions are made through the SEN Casework section at County Hall Durham.

Windlestone

The Windlestone site is a purpose built secondary Special School for pupils with SEMH located in a semi-rural setting near Chilton, County Durham.  Elemore Hall took on this site in September 2021 and has rapidly developed it to provides a personal, social and academic education for 90 pupils between the ages of 11 and 16. The Windlestone site offers evening activities to all pupils and residence for up to 20 pupils on four nights per week during term time. Admissions are made through the SEN Casework section at County Hall Durham.

PACC

PACC offers a specialist, individualised education provision for up to 20 KS4 pupils whose needs cannot be adequately met within the SEMH special school sector. All pupils must have an EHCP. Admittance is strictly controlled and managed by the ‘PACC panel’ consisting of LA officers and PACC staff. All pupils attending PACC are on the roll of Elemore Hall School. PACC is currently based in a building at Aykley Heads, Durham.
