Teacher of Mathematics KS3 & 4

Elemore Hall School, a Durham LA maintained residential and day special school for 200+ secondary pupils with SEMH and additional learning needs, is seeking a high-quality Mathematics teacher to join our dedicated team at the Chilton site.

Start date: January 2026 or as soon as mutually convenient.

Useful information for applicants

When we shortlist applications we look for a number of things. The list below is not exhaustive but highlights some of the first things that we look for and that can discount an applicant immediately from going further in the process.

Whilst lots of the applications to the school are high quality, frequently applications are rejected at the first stage because they do not fulfil the basic requirements of:- (1) writing a clear letter of application stating why they were applying for the post, (2) Providing two referees – including the current employer/Headteacher, and/or (3) Not having the correct basic qualifications (evidence of these must be brought to interview).

Potential applicants for any post are strongly encouraged to visit the school to find out more about the job and the school in general, if this is not possible candidates are advised to read through the information on the website to gain additional information. Applications must be made on the standard application form from the school website and must include a letter, addressed to the Headteacher, explaining what experience you have had, what you would bring to our school and why you would like to be considered for the job.
